Open Water SSI

The Open Water Diver course from SSI is your gateway to the exciting world of scuba diving. It’s the most popular course for those who want to obtain an international diving certification, allowing you to explore the underwater world safely and independently.

This course is perfect for those who want to start exploring the underwater world and gain the independence to dive anywhere in the world, with the confidence of having the necessary skills to do so safely and responsibly.

Theory:

You will study the basic principles of diving, the physics and physiology of diving, how to use the equipment, and the safety rules. On Day 1, we will cover all the theory, preparing you for the practical sessions and the dives.

Confined Water Session (Pool):

On the same day, we will complete the confined water session, where you’ll learn key skills such as buoyancy control, equipment handling, underwater communication, and emergency maneuvers.

Open Water Dives:

The following two days will be dedicated to completing four open water dives, where you’ll apply everything you’ve learned in the pool and theory, exploring the underwater world to a depth of 18 meters.

Prerequisites:

You must be at least 10 years old, know how to swim, and be in good physical condition. No previous diving experience is required.

Objective:

By the end of the course, you will be a certified diver capable of diving independently to a maximum depth of 18 meters, without the need for an instructor, anywhere in the world.

International Certification:

Upon completion, you’ll receive the Open Water Diver certification from SSI, valid worldwide, which allows you to dive independently with a buddy anywhere.

Access to more courses:

Once certified, you can continue with advanced courses like Advanced Adventurer, Rescue Diver, or specialties such as night diving, deep diving, and more.

Safety and confidence:

You’ll learn the essential safety principles and basic procedures for diving with confidence, ensuring a fun and safe underwater experience.

Duration
The course takes 3 days. On Day 1, we cover all the theory and the confined water session (pool). On Day 2 and Day 3, we conduct two open water dives per day to apply what you’ve learned.
